Privacy Policy

OweMate is made by WHITE DIGIT LLC (“we,” “our,” “us”). This policy explains what information the OweMate app (the “App”) and this website handle, where it goes, and the choices you have.

In short: your ledger (the people, amounts, notes and reminders you create) stays on your device and in your own iCloud account. We don’t run a server that receives it, and we can’t see it. The free version shows ads, and we measure our own advertising campaigns, so a few partners receive device and usage information as described below.

1. What we don’t do

• We don’t require an account, email address, password or phone number.
• We don’t receive, store or sell the people, amounts, notes, reminders or statements in your ledger.
• We don’t share your ledger with advertisers. Ads are never based on what you track in OweMate.
• We don’t receive your payment card details. Purchases are handled by Apple.

2. Information stored on your device

OweMate stores the following on your iPhone or iPad so the App can work:

• People: names, and optionally a phone number and a photo.
• Transactions: amounts, currencies, dates, whether you gave or received money, and an optional note.
• Private notes you add to a person. Notes never appear in reminders, photo cards or statements.
• Your name, if you choose to enter it, used to sign reminders, photo cards and statements.
• Your settings and preferences.

Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read this information from the same storage on your device. Deleting the App deletes the copy on that device.

3. iCloud sync

If you’re signed in to iCloud, your ledger syncs between your devices through your own private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit. This data is stored by Apple, governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy, and isn’t accessible to us.

4. Contacts and Photos permissions

If you choose to add people from your contacts, OweMate uses the name, phone number and photo of the people you pick. Your address book is never uploaded anywhere.

Photos (add only)

When you tap Save on a photo reminder card, OweMate asks for permission to add the image to your photo library. It can’t read your existing photos.

5. AI reminders, photo cards and statements

Reminder messages are written on your iPhone using Apple Intelligence’s on-device language model. The names, amounts and notes used to write a reminder aren’t sent to us or to any AI provider. On devices without Apple Intelligence, OweMate uses ready-made templates instead.

Photo cards and PDF statements are created on your device. Nothing is sent until you choose to share it. When you do, it goes through the iOS share sheet to the app and person you pick, and that app’s own privacy policy applies.

6. Advertising (free version)

The free version of OweMate shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob also requests ads from Meta Audience Network through mediation. To show and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, these partners may collect:

• Your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking
• Device information such as model, operating system and language
• IP address, from which coarse location may be inferred
• Interactions with ads, such as views and taps
• Diagnostics about how the ads load and perform

Ads are personalized only if you allow tracking (and, in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, give consent). Otherwise you see non-personalized ads. Buying OweMate Pro removes all ads.

7. Measuring our own ads (TikTok)

We advertise OweMate on TikTok. To learn which campaigns bring people to the App, OweMate includes the TikTok Business SDK, which reports a small set of events to TikTok: installing the App, opening it, and buying OweMate Pro. With these events TikTok may receive your device information, IP address, app version and, only if you allow tracking, your advertising identifier.

• It starts only after you answer the tracking prompt.
• In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, it runs only if you consent to TikTok in the consent form.
• Once you own OweMate Pro, it no longer starts when you open the App.

8. Purchases (OweMate Pro)

OweMate Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to confirm and restore purchases. RevenueCat receives your App Store transaction details, an anonymous app user ID it generates, and basic device and app information. It doesn’t receive your name, email or payment details. 9. This website

owemate.wdigit.app doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising. The App Store badge is loaded from Apple’s servers, which receive the standard information your browser sends with any request, such as your IP address. Our hosting provider keeps basic server logs to deliver and protect the site.

10. Your choices

• Tracking: choose “Ask App Not to Track” when prompted, or change it any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
• Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland): change your choices any time in OweMate → Settings → Ad Privacy Options.
• No ads: buy OweMate Pro to remove all ads.
• Contacts and Photos: change access any time in iOS Settings → OweMate.

11. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

Where GDPR applies, personalized ads and TikTok measurement rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Delivering non-personalized ads, preventing fraud and keeping the App secure rely on our legitimate interests. Confirming your purchase is necessary to provide what you bought.

12. International transfers

Google, Meta, TikTok, RevenueCat and Apple may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States, under their own safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

13. Deleting your data and retention

You control your ledger. Delete people or transactions in the App, delete the App to remove it from a device, and remove the iCloud copy in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → OweMate.

Information collected by Google, Meta, TikTok and RevenueCat is kept according to their own retention policies.

14. Children

OweMate isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us and we’ll help remove it.

15. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct or delete your personal information
• Withdraw consent or object to processing
• Opt out of targeted advertising, sometimes called “sharing” under US state privacy laws
• Complain to your local data protection authority

Because we don’t hold your ledger, the quickest way to manage it is in the App. For information held by our partners, use the choices above or contact us and we’ll help. We respond within 30 days.

16. Third parties summary

No other third party receives data from OweMate.

17. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top and, for material changes, mention it in the App’s release notes.
